Our story
A takeaway, a float, and a family that kept building.
Peppercord Limited is the company Bertie and Lee-ann Cordingley run their brands through. The company is new. The habit is twenty years old.
- 2006
FillMyBelly
Bertie and Lee-ann launch an online takeaway ordering site. Bertie designs it from a rough presentation, because he cannot write the code himself, and finds the people who can.
- 2012
Just Eat
Just Eat buys FillMyBelly. Bertie stays on as a director in the UK management team through Just Eat’s float, then spends three years on the global side as Director of Global Systems.
- Then
Other people’s businesses
Bertie raises money for other founders and invests his own in a few. A couple fail. Lee-ann builds All You Yoga and what is now The Sex Coach, and becomes Sasha le Swank on stage.
- 2024
Peppercord Limited
The company is incorporated in September 2024, owned equally by Bertie and Lee-ann, with an office at Fenchurch House on King Street in Nottingham. NotLuck trades through it, and so does everything else.
- Now
Building it ourselves
For twenty years Bertie had the ideas and someone else built them. The tools changed, and now he can build them himself, the same day. That is where NotLuck came from, and why the collection keeps growing: Network Pal, Peppd, 30 Reasons Why, NotForgot and Go Parking were all built in-house.
Why we do it
Every brand here grew from something one of us cared about solving.
Businesses drowning in admin and paying for tools they hated. Women with nobody qualified to talk to about the part of their lives that had gone quiet. Networking scattered across a dozen websites. Business cards out of date the day they were printed.
We build them ourselves, we run them ourselves, and we use them ourselves. Building a business should mean building something good for the place you are in, so we speak at events, support local causes, and stay in Nottingham.
